  4. Transfer･Notice is a small application that was made for the benefit of those who have their Macintosh installed on a network. The aim of this utility is to provide an Alert to the local user as soon as any new item is dropped into a folder being shared over the network.

  8. Transfer･Notice is only compatible with System 7 at the moment. The application was optimizes by taking advantage of the FSSpec (File System Specifications), which came with the new operating system.

  10. Installing instructions

You should first make an allias of the application and drop it into the Startup Folder. You can then launch the application . Then using the File menu, select Find Folder... You will have a window that allows you to move anywhere through your folders. Once you have located the "shared" folder, press the select button (located at the bottom of the window showing a list of folders). By selecting your "shared folder" this way, you actually saved the folder ID into the preference file (XFR Notice Prefs) so that you do not have to repeat this process at every startup.

This application is shareware. There is a modest fee established at either $10.00 (US) for one user or $45.00 (US) for every ten users or less that are sharing the same local area network. Please remember to fill in the registration coupon below and send it to the mailing address with your money order.

  20. Your suggestions are welcome.and depending on the kind of response I get within the next few months, a new version should be released which will be free to all registered users. This future version will include one or more of the following:

  23.     ･  Show user name
  24.     ･  Sound options
  25.     ･  Launching another application (e.g. your best e-mail editor)
  26.     ･  Selecting Multiple Folders being shared on the network
